Overview
- The Department of Gujarati has been a part of the college since its establishment in 1962, offered as both a major and a subsidiary subject. The department was initially led by Mr. Kanubhai Gor and Mr. Indravadan Chhaya, who laid its foundation with their dedicated teaching.
- In 1991, Ms. Sonalben Vaishnav joined the department as a part-time lecturer. Following the retirement of Mr. Kanubhai Gor in 1992, two new teaching positions were approved through the efforts of the visionary Principal Nand Hingorani. Subsequently, in 1993, Ms. Sonalben Vaishnav was appointed as a full-time faculty member, and Mr. Ramesh Deshmukh also joined the department as a new lecturer.
- In 1994, Ms. Padmaben C. Patel joined the department as a professor when an additional position was sanctioned, further strengthening the department’s faculty.
