Exploring the Wonders of Plant Science: Welcome to the Botany Department

Overview

  • Including class room Instruction, demonstration, Models, charts, live specimensstudent
    seminars department uses technology for teaching; Multimedia projector, PPTs,
    Internet facility, Images & Videos etc.
  • Exams conducted in Online \ Offline modes
  • Since the initiation of the department, various educational trips\ visits have been
    organized for familiarizing the students with different plant species in their natural
    environment and research institutions.
  • Staff of the Department are acting as the co-ordinators of various college committees
    like IQAC, Purchase committee, Eco club, Discipline committee, UGC, Soil Health Card
    Project, GSBTM, Parent and teacher committee etc. and extending their hands whole
    heartedly for the smooth functioning of college activities
  • Students of the department regularly focus on the development of the department,
    Clean and green in the campus, Plantation in the Campus.
  • The Department with other departments organizes the different departmental events
    like, welcome and farewell programmes.
  • The Department organizes the plantation drives in the College Campus periodically
  • Department has a museum having a collection of more than 145 species in herbarium,
    some preserved samples and seed samples.
  • The department is providing guidance and coaching for the academic progression of the
    students
  • The department is encouraging the students to participate in the National &
    International Conference, NSS, NCC, Sports, Literary and cultural activities etc…
    Different events are conducted by the department to enhance the awareness of the
    students regarding environmental issues like No plastic, Ozone Day, Water
    conservation, Best from Waste, organizes educational field trips\ tours and Exhibition,
    Samuh bhojan, Best from Waste competition etc.
