Overview
Since the beginning in 1962, Hindi is been offered as the Major and Subsidiary Subject in Arts. Not only that, Hindi is the medium of Instruction for the faculty of Arts in which all other subjects tutored, owing to the large number of Hindi Speaking population at Adipur-Gandhidham who had migrated from other states and also to support the curriculum of Central Board.
The great Stalwarts of the Department were Mr. K S Shastri, Dr Nand Hingorani (who went on to be the Principal in 1992) & Mts Kavita Pardasani who laid the foundation of the department. Subsequently Dr Renu N Hingorani and Mr Mahendra Siju joined after the retirement of the founders.
M.A. Hindi was introduced in 1995 during the tenure of Principal, Dr Srivastav but discontinued within two years. Later on when Dr Sushil G Dharmani the present Principal joined the department in 2006, he re introduced M.A. Hindi in 2009.
