The Annual Quality Assurance Report of the IQAC

Name of the Institute Tolani College of Arts & Science, Adipur.
      Year of Report 2007-08
      Part A

The plan of action chalked by the IQAC in the beginning of the year towards quality enhancement and the outcome achieved by the end of the year : During the process of accreditation the institution felt the greater need of documenting each and every activity that it had been performing for many years, but had failed to maintain the records.

It divided the task into four categories : administrative, curricular, extra-curricular and sports. To enhance sharing of duty, the above four were subdivided into various segments where the teaching and non-teaching were made responsible and accountable for the undertaken work. At the finish of which the report used to be tabled in the general meeting which enabled everyone to appreciate the outcome of the modus operandi. To increase the participation of faculty as well as the students the college divided students amongst four houses the internal competitions led them towards the excellence in academic as well as other activities too. Not only that it enabled them to know the teaching faculty of other subjects too over functioning as their house masters as well as the students of various classes. Hence, an amicable homogeneous atmosphere was generated and a spirit of brotherhood could be established.

      Part B
      1. Activities reflecting the goals and objectives of the institution
        • Extension activities - Along with the various NGOs, the college students have been participating into the activities of eradication, illiteracy, AIDS, female foeticides, banning addiction (prohibition of liquor, drugs and tobacco), spread of general cleanliness and civic sense.
        • Co-curricular activities - It was found that the students of this region are good at writing but very poor at verbal presentation. To generate and boost their confidence level, subject clubs were formed where seminar, multimedia presentations were made mandatory on the base of which students were awarded the internal attendance marks too.
        • Sports - As the students step in college, he is been cut off from all the physical activities. Hence there is decline towards the health as well as the concentration level. So, under the house activity, inter house sports and athletic meet is held which again generates the zest to participate in NSS and NCC activities.
      2. New academic programmes initiated
        • Hindi which is been taught at the under graduate principle level is also been introduced as the subsidiary subject from the year 2007-08.

To transect it, the syllabus was divided into various units and weightage was decided for the teaching as well as examination purpose.
      4. Inter-disciplinary programmes started
        • Under the disguise of the English Language Lab, the students as well as faculty were first of all introduced with the domain of IT and computer technology.
